Music at the King’s College Chapel

There are a number of wonderful choirs that make music here!

The Chapel Choir

The Chapel Choir, directed by five-time Grammy winner Paul Halley, comprises 24 choristers from the King’s College and Dalhousie University communities, who are selected through auditions. The choir’s primary function is to sing at the weekly Evensongs and Eucharists in the King’s College Chapel, as well as other major services throughout the academic year. The choir also includes touring and recording among its activities. It is well known for its annual concert series, King’s at the Cathedral, which includes a performance during All Saints in November, a December series of A King’s Christmas concerts in venues around the province, and a Baroque masterwork each spring. The choir’s performances have been broadcast nationally across Canada on CBC Radio, and included in CBC’s top picks of concerts to attend across Canada. The choir’s 2013 recording Let Us Keep The Feast: Music for the Church Year won the Outstanding Choral Recording award from Choral Canada.
