Mondays & Tuesdays, 9:30 pm

Compline is a short (27-minute), contemplative service, sung by candlelight, that emphasizes spiritual peace. It is offered when the work of the day is ended and the sun has set, when the quiet of evening settles on the hearts and minds of those assembled to give thanks for the blessings of the past day. Compline is the final service of the day in the Christian tradition of canonical hours. The word ‘Compline’ is derived from the Latin completorium, since the service marks the completion of the day.

Compline is led on Mondays by the Women’s Compline Choir and on Tuesdays by the Men’s Compline Choir. The Women’s Compline Choir is composed of students, and is a simple, drop-in affair. Contact Maria Bartholomew if you would like to join.
